Identity Crisis
INTP or ISTP?...althought the two are close.
INTP(from humanmetrics.com)
Qualitative analysis of my type fromula
- moderately expressed Introvert
- moderately expressed iNtuitive personality
- slightly expressed Thinking personality
- slightly expressed Percieving personality
INTPs are pensive, analytical folks. They may venture so deeply into thought as to seem detached, and often actually are oblivious to the world around them.
Precise about their descriptions, INTPs will often correct others (or be sorely tempted to) if the shade of meaning is a bit off. While annoying to the less concise, this fine discrimination ability gives INTPs so inclined a natural advantage as, for example, grammarians and linguists.
INTPs are relatively easy-going and amenable to almost anything until their principles are violated, about which they may become outspoken and inflexible. They prefer to return, however, to a reserved albeit benign ambiance, not wishing to make spectacles of themselves.
A major concern for INTPs is the HAUNTING SENSE OF IMPENDING FAILURE. They spend considerable time second-guessing themselves. The open-endedness (from Perceiving) conjoined with the need for competence (NT) is expressed in a sense that one's conclusion may well be met by an equally plausible alternative solution, and that, after all, one may very well have overlooked some critical bit of data. An INTP arguing a point may very well be trying to convince himself as much as his opposition. ..
(and magaling daw sa math???)
ISTP
from another source(personality pathways)
Rodin's Thinker is introverted. Here these thinkers ponder the apparent chaos of the world in order to extract from it the universal truths and principles that can be counted on. These principles, once extracted, will provide the logical structure on which to build strategies.
They have a finely nuanced ability to analyse situations, find root causes and foresee consequences. They distrust action taken too quickly without the necessary investigation. They are usually levelheaded, objective, impersonal yet intensely involved in problem solving. They are fiercely independent, seeking input and comments from a chosen few. When reporting to others, they need to establish credibility first: their own and that of the person they are reporting to. If the gap in knowledge and expertise is too great and their own proficiency dismissed, belittled or ignored, they will lose interest and motivation.
They are less interested in running the world as they are in understanding it. They are curious and capable of explaining complex political, economic or technological problems, taking great pleasure in explaining all the factors and intricacies. They are rigorous with their thoughts and analysis, choosing the exact words that convey precisely what is meant. They may spend a lot of time defining words, concepts and systems in order to define a problematic solution.
They are armchair detectives, scientists and philosophers, spending most of their time in quiet reflection to ponder truth, and solve mysteries. They may tend to neglect social requirements and responsibilities, finding many relationships to be too superficial to be of much interest.

ISTPs are equally difficult to understand in their need for personal space, which in turn has an impact on their relationships with others.
Communication also tends to be a key issue, since they generally express themselves non-verbally. When they do actually verbalize, ISTPs are masters of the one-liner, often showing flashes of humor in the most tense situations; this can result in their being seen as thick-skinned or tasteless.
Like most SPs, ISTPs may have trouble with rote and abstract classroom learning, which tend not to be good measures of their actual intelligence. They tend, sometimes with good reason, to be highly skeptical of its practical value...
They are at their best in a crisis, where their natural disregard for rules and authority structures allows them to focus on and tackle the emergency at hand in the most effective way.(ehem ehem, think batman!!!..or wolverine.. haha!)
....
"When I am working on a problem I never think about beauty. I only think about how to solve the problem. But when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong." -Buckminster Fuller
There has always been something in silence that seduced me. The quiet things somehow seem more moving, more potent. So much stays in the realm of the unsaid, and after everything else, still so much would remain when we could say all that we can.

And you shouldn't feel guilty about feeling weak. If anyone acts strong or is unaffected when they lose something, it only means that what they lost was not important to them. Di ko sasabihin na okey lang yan, kasi alam ko mahirap talaga yan, but at least take comfort that whatever it was or is, it was real to you. It's always a risk to live a real life, and just making that choice to try already makes you stronger than most. (some stuff ommitted)
Well, concerned lang naman si (name of another friend), at malay ko ba kung senti ka rin sa mga tao tao, hehe. Si (another friend) gusto narin talaga magcoffee tayo, haha. Pero medyo gets ko naman yung ibig mong sabihin na mabuti minsan na di marami yung may alam na depressed ka or whatever. Pero kung masyado mo rin itago or irrepress, you will just end up isolating yourself kasi baka masyado iba yung galaw o pagiisip mo kapag magisa ka as to when you are with other people. Haha, malabo pagkasabi ko...basta. And yeah, you must keep going. The thoughts and the feelings might be slow to go away if they will at all, but you can't let it stagnate you. If you do, you'll be digging a bigger hole for yourself. How much we value life should be much more than how much we indulge our pain.
Me? Haha, mahirap isagot yan kasi nagbabago ang sagot. Such is the way when we look into the past. Atsaka, people's experiences naman are not exactly the same, iba iba. But for the most part, para sa akin, regret is still there. Nobody wants to make mistakes. But when mistakes happen, kasi tao lang naman tayo, then we should learn from it. Regret can be a way of learning or remembering how to do the right things. Do I wish it never happened nalang? Siguro. But it did, so useless na isipin yun. Accept the facts, then move on from there as best you can. Yeah, nagbago ako considerably after that, some in good ways and some in bad. But in spite of it all, that experience, though it didn't end very well, was very real to me. It told me a lot about myself and it gave me the chance to be real to someone else that is rather unique. The question might not be if it was worth it, but if it was precious (the experience, the lesson, etc)? And yes, it was. How you view and what you make of the past will be up to you. Learning comes from the past, living happens in the present. May sense ba mga sinasabi ko? hahaha. Basta, our life stories shouldn't end with our mistakes.
END
(End note: First of all, I apologize for the Taglish. The thought did cross my mind as to editing it but I decided I wanted to preserve the original "flavor" of the text (cellphone) conversation. Of course I didn't include my friends messages coz...well...I didn't get permission, hehe. Anyhow, rereading it now, I ask myself just how much of my own advice I could actually use. Of course the question is rhetorical, so people's comments are not welcome:p)

It's always the same. Everytime I go out to buy some rice on that shop by the street they always ask, "Plain sir or garlic?"
"Uhm, plain." I reply.
"Ah sir, wala pong plain rice."
"Ah, di garlic nalang." hiding my somewhat amused reaction.
Why offer the choice if there really wasn't one in the first place? Always. It's funny.
